The truth is that the programs that exist in our communities are based on
ANTIQUATED METHODS DEVELOPED ALMOST 100 YEARS AGO!
Before we knew what we do now about early childhood development.
At Swim to Safety we have figured it out!
PRESCHOOLERS ARE GUARANTEED TO LEARN IN JUST TWO WEEKS
...Is that your child needs the correct guidance and encouragement
The reason they aren't swimming yet is not because they aren't ready, or are too little.
It's because the program they are in is not in alignment with their development
With GUARANTEED results we HAVE to be doing something DIFFERENT than everyone else!
In just two weeks with the help of a certified instructor your child will learn to:
Navigate the pool safely
Manage their breathing
Navigate in the water
Swim completely independently
No waiting for other children to catch up, no waiting for the next session
OR
OR

Your Certified Swim to Safety Instructor will see your child for 10 minutes lessons over the course of two weeks - Monday to Friday the first week and then depending on the instructor Monday to Thursday or Friday the week after always at the same time. Lessons are scheduled at 15 minute intervals to allow for some time to connect with parents and though lessons are ten minutes in length actual time in the water can vary considerably as our instructors are constantly evaluating your child's mood, tiredness, emotional state....Don't worry if your instructor is spending less time with your child - especially in the beginning. The goal of these lessons is to get your child swimming and once they start to practice that part it happens VERY quickly.
Though we only book heated pools sometimes things can go wrong and it has happened that we have had to deal with a broken heater during a session which is not ideal for anyone. Rest assured that when that happens we do everything we can to accommodate the swimmers and make sure that it does not impact their overall learning experience or skills progression. Even when circumstances are out of our control we guarantee results.
Swim to Safety is a mobile swim school. We partner up with families who have pools and an interest in water safety in order to offer lessons to as many children as possible. To see if we have a session near you click on the register now button.
Only on the last day of lessons where your child and instructor will teach your how to practice and make sure they trust you the same way they trusted them. On graduation day you will learn how to properly reinforce the skills learned in class in order to keep your child's skills up and continue progressing.
Children 30 months and up are GUARANTEED to be able to swim from point A to point B, once they have that down your child will work on turning around to get back to safety if they slip off a step or a bench, and Swimming to Safety should they fall in. In the rare case that your child is not able to swim by the end of a session, we will make arrangements for your child to keep learning or refund your money.
Yes, it is important that your child have the assurance and security of a familiar adult in an unfamiliar situation. This will help your child feel more at ease and you wouldn't want to miss seeing your child progress so quickly. That being said, many children come to lessons with grandparents, nannies, or other trusted adults. So long as your child is familiar with the person bringing them all will be well.
We strongly discourage the use of goggles for young children. Goggles undermine genuine confidence and become a crutch that children think they need. Should a child fall in the pool unexpectedly they may panic about not having their goggles much like they would if they forgot a favourite object for an overnight trip but in this case the consequences are disastrous.
Class is not cancelled for weather unless there is lightning. Consistency is essential and if it happens the bonus is it shows your child the importance of the lessons. Rain or shine, we swim. Plus, swimming in the rain is fun!
Unfortunately make up classes are not possible so if a lesson is missed it is forfeit. Note that your guarantee is dependent on attending each lesson and arriving on time but that very seldom does a child miss a lesson and not succeed at swimming by the end of the session.

Selena has over 27 years experience in the field and by combining her experience building swim curriculums for community pools & private aquatic facilities, developing and administering cold water survival training for the Canadian military for over ten years and helping train some of Montreal's finest in the water and her own experience with childhood trauma and recovery; developed a revolutionary way of teaching children to swim and self-rescue in as little as two weeks that takes into account developmental milestones and emotional wellbeing while instilling in children a sense of learning their own limits in the water AND overcoming fears and anxieties.
Selena is passionate about drowning prevention and believes that the most effective way to affect drowning rates is to ensure parents have all the tools they need to not only teach their children to swim and self-rescue safely but to also recognise a problem before it becomes a danger keeping their children safer by the water.
